Every May long weekend our church body heads outdoors for a weekend of family fun at Chubb Lake Bible Camp just south of Hixon BC. Please consider our May Camp weekend a priority for your family. It is a wonderful opportunity to fellowship and build community.

We want everyone to come out and join us at Chubb Lake that’s why we have some great affordable weekend rates.

These fees don’t just cover food, they also cover access to the camp facilities and activity costs.

Family camp has a rich tradition of families spending time together. The weekend has a balance of both scheduled activities and free time to enjoy a canoe along the lake, soaking up the sun or playing outdoor sports.  Here’s our schedule of the main activities. Chubb Lake Bible Camp

Directions

Chubb Lake Bible Camp is located 9km South of Hixon. Turn RIGHT at the Chubb Lake sign.

Take your first LEFT onto Hixon/Quesnel Rd.
Go 3.6km until you reach a Y in the road – stay RIGHT.

Go 3.8 km then turn RIGHT at Chubb Lake Rd. Just past the lake and up the hill you’ll see the driveway on the LEFT.

Volunteer Positions

It takes an enormous effort from volunteers and organizers to run camp every year. Below is a list of volunteer jobs that need to be filled. If you are interested please send an email to maycamp@wffpg.ca

Responsible for overseeing, training and delegating the kitchen clean-up crew. Duties include coordinating the collection and washing of all dishes, the wiping of tables after all meals and the washing of floors after dinner. This position is also responsible for ensuring the dining hall and dish area is clean after Sunday brunch. The leads will need to be available Friday for training.

Responsible for setting out and serving hot chocolate and snacks after the evening chapel on Saturday and Sunday. The leads will be responsible for ensuring snacks are put away and the kitchen is tidied.

Responsible for arriving 15 minutes prior to chapel to ensure a fire is lit and that wood is stocked for the next service. The fire starter will also lite the bonfire in the fire pit by the boat launch on Saturday night.

Boat Launch – Responsible for ensuring all canoes, paddles and life vests are properly stored in the shed.
Cabin check – Responsible for ensuring all cabins and Atco trailers are swept and remove all garbage and place in the main bins.
Chapel – Responsible for cleaning all garbage and things left behind, sweeping floors and ensuring all pews are straightened into rows.

FAQ

We get lots of questions about Family Camp. Here are some of the frequently asked questions

In order to accommodate all campers, noon & evening meals will be split into two dining times.
First dining time: Priority will be given to parents with small children under 12.
Second time will be open to all campers.

Dogs MUST BE on a leash at all times AND you MUST clean up after them! No exceptions

Families are requested to bring a batch of cookies, squares or other finger foods for our evening fellowship times. Drop them off at the dining hall.

Quiet time is required after 11:00 pm until 7:00 a.m. with an 11:30 p.m. curfew! Parents are fully responsible for the supervision of their children and youth at all activities and in observance of bedtime quietness and curfew.
