Travelling to Kenya

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. (James 1:27 NLT)

As I write this Dave, Sunni and I are readying our final preparations to leave for Kenya, and I am reminded of James 1:27. We are so incredibly blessed and privileged to live where we do. Yes, we have the poor with us here in Canada, but when you compare our poor to the plight of many in a developing country like Kenya, the contrast is stark. One statistic I’ve read states that forty two percent of Kenya’s population of 44 million live below the poverty line.

What an incredible honor and privilege it is to represent Westside in partnering with the Church in Kenya to give and invest in the orphans and widows. We will be spending one of our days in the orphanage as well as seeing the water catchments in use that Westside has funded. Thank you again to all of you who have participated in giving sacrificially and generously to this mission!

Secondly, I am honored and delighted for the opportunity to train and equip pastors. Pastor Paul and In Touch Ministries oversees over 300 churches. I will be teaching pastors in seminars in 8 of the days we will be there. My heart is filled with God’s Word that I would love to impart. Please join with us in praying that the Pope’s and I will have God’s anointing to impart and deposit life giving words that will bear much fruit in all of these precious co-laborers in the Gospel.
