Sunday School Classes Every Sunday Following Worship
Sunday School Classes Every Sunday Following Worship
*For Children Ages 3 through Grade 5*
Our Mission
Westside Kids exists to partner with parents in leading children to know God personally, love Him with all their heart, soul, and mind, and follow Jesus in their everyday lives. Our desire is to nurture a lifelong faith, a faith that treasures God’s Word, loves one another, and continues to grow from childhood through every season of life.
Our Programs
PreK Sunday School Class
Our preschoolers meet in the Prayer Room and use the First Look curriculum. Each week we focus on three big truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Through songs, stories, play, and crafts, we help little ones begin to see how much God loves them and how they can trust Him.
K5 Sunday School Class
Elementary kids meet in the Southroom and use the 252 Kids curriculum. Each month we explore a new virtue from Scripture, helping kids grow in wisdom, faith, and friendship. Our heart is for kids to know Jesus, make wise choices, and build strong relationships that reflect His love.
We want to partner with you beyond Sunday mornings. Our curriculum connects with the Parent Cue app, which gives you simple cues to continue the conversation at home. Each week you’ll find the same Bible story, memory verse, and bottom line your child is learning in class, along with fun ideas for family time.
Introducing Planning Center Check-Ins
Sundays should be simple for families. That’s why we’re launching a new check-in system that helps kids get to their classrooms smoothly, lets us reach you quickly if your child needs you, and makes pickup a breeze. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it helps every family feel comfortable and right at home.
Your Sunday Morning Check-In
The Check-In station runs from 9:30–10:15 AM in the foyer. All children attending Sunday School (ages 3 through Grade 5) need to be checked in before attending Sunday School.
If you arrive late, no stress! A volunteer will be available during the announcements to help you get checked in before kids head to class.
*Please note: pre check-in is not available at this time.
What To Expect
First Time Users
If it’s your first Sunday with us, one of our volunteers will walk you through setting up your KidCheck profile. We’ll ask for a few details, like allergies, medical needs, and your pickup preferences. Once you’re set up, you’ll be ready to use the self-check-in station on your own in future weeks.
Returning Families
If you’ve checked in before, it’s as simple as entering your phone number at the self check-in tablet, selecting your child’s name, and letting the labels print. From there, you’re all set for Sunday School.
Need Help?
The Westside Kids check-in station is always staffed by a friendly volunteer. If a grandparent is checking in or picking up your child, or if you have friends or family visiting with us, our team will make sure everything is set up for you. If you need to update your information or add an allergy, we can help with that too. Our volunteers are always available to answer questions and make the process simple.
Check In Labels
PreK Labels
Preschoolers receive a name label when they are checked in. We ask parents to place it on their child’s back so it stays visible and secure during class. This helps our leaders know each child by name and keeps groups organized.
PreK Security Tags
Parents of preschoolers receive a matching security tag. You will need to show this tag when picking up your child after class. It is the best way to make sure every child is released safely to the right parent or guardian.
Elementary Labels
Elementary kids do not wear their labels. We ask that they instead bring this label to their teacher when the class breaks up. The label will include a note about whether they are to remain in class until a parent or guardian arrives, or if they are free to leave and find you after the service.
Text Notifications
We partner with parents to make sure every child has the best experience possible in Sunday School. If your child is having a hard time settling into the lesson, needs extra support, or if your preschooler needs to use the bathroom, you’ll receive a text message asking you to come to their classroom.
The person who checks your child in will be the one who receives the text, so please make sure the parent who is most available during the service is listed as the check-in contact.
We encourage everyone to silence their phones during worship, but please keep your device on vibrate or with notifications enabled so you can respond quickly if your child needs you.

FAQs
Not right now. We are not using pre-check-in. All families check in at the Westside Kids check-in station before the service begins. Our team is there to help.
Yes. You can add Trusted Adults to your Planning Center profile so grandparents or family friends can check in. The person selected as “checked in by” will receive any text notifications during the service.
If you lose your parent security tag, please go directly to your child’s teacher at pickup. Present a photo ID and your child will be released if you are listed in our system as an approved adult for pickup.
No problem. If you forget or missed the check in window, a Westside Kids volunteer will be available during the announcements to help you check in before kids head to class.
Preschoolers do not have to be fully potty trained to attend. If your child needs to use the bathroom, has an accident, or becomes soiled, we will text you to come in and assist them.
Even if your preschooler is fully potty-trained and can use the bathroom independently, we ask parents to assist with bathroom trips. There is a bathroom in the classroom, but our volunteers are not able to go in and help if the need arises. Having a parent/guardian come prevents your child from waiting too long and feeling scared if they need help. To help everything go smoothly, we recommend a quick bathroom stop before class begins.
Westside Family Fellowship is a place where many kids feel at home. For families whose children attend Westside Academy during the week, this building is already familiar and trusted, almost like a second home. We want families who are newer to feel safe, while also giving veteran families the comfort of choosing what works best for them.
At this time, security tags are not printed for elementary children, even if you have chosen parent pickup. This is due to limitations in the system but it is something we are open to reviewing if the need arises.
If there is anyone who should not be picking up your child, please let the check-in volunteer know. We will note a restricted list on your child’s profile to make sure your child is only released to the adults you trust.
At Westside Family Fellowship we value worshiping together as a church family. Kids join the congregation for worship so they can see this expression modelled, sing with their parents, and learn the rhythms of gathered worship. After worship they are dismissed to age-appropriate teaching and small groups.
You can view our campus map here. If you are unsure, ask at the Westside Kids check-in station and we will gladly walk you through where to go.
You can read our policies here. If you have questions about any part of our process, please connect with Ashley Chance.
Please keep your child home if they have a contagious illness, a fever, or have vomited within the last 24 hours. Rest up and join us when they are well. To see what we are learning this week, check the Parent Cue app on iPhone or Android and keep the conversation going at home.
